I’ve been a bit slack with the blog of late what with Christmas etc. I am also exhibiting at Halswell House wedding fair on 8th February this year so am getting frames and such prepared for that.

Early this year I did my first wedding of the year. It was a day after we had bitingly cold weather with frost like I had never seen before. I hoped to be able to see something similar on the wedding day for great photos but it wasn’t to be. However I was graced with a dry day and some cloud. Cloud?! Yes cloud, it meant I didn’t get lots of nasty shadows.

I had only met Luke & Lucy for the first time less than a week before their wedding day. I immediately liked them, not least because Luke is from New Zealand, my favourite place on earth! I guess going to a wedding with kiwis present was the next best thing to going back to New Zealand!

All Saints Church at Dulverton was simply beautiful inside with candles lining the aisle. I simply must mention the organist. I can hand on heart say that I have never heard an organ in a church sound good, but this chap could play it magnificantly! He filled the church with a sense of grandeur. I actually greatly dislike the organ after many years of hearing it being played (obviously badly) in church, but this day my faith in the instrument was restored. Crikey I’d even go so far as to recommend people go to the church on a Sunday if only to hear him play if he plays anything like that at a Sunday service too.

The reception was at Stoodleigh Court in Stoodleigh, Tiverton. A wonderful BIG old house with large grounds. Mind you we didn’t want to hang aorund outside very long, it wasn’t exactly warm! I was surprised the bride and groom made it to the reception venue actually as there were some pretty nasty hills on the way and the little classic car they arrived in didn’t look up to it. Perhaps it has something special under its bonnet!
