Wedding photography at St Audries Park in West Quantoxhead

On Monday 6th April I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding at St Audries between Aurelijus and Sarah. I had long since been in communication with Sarah & Aurelijus, but had not met both of them until a week before the big day. Like many couples who pay me a visit they said they were not very photogenic. I think that is down to 99% of the time the person taking a photo of you doesn’t do a good job of it. That’s where I come in.

As usual I got to the venue early to give myself time to look around and find good spots for photos, then I got a few early shots of the guys and girls getting ready. I try and get some nice photos of the children before everything gets a bit much for them. The two flower girls were extremely well behaved when I asked for them to pose for me, like little angels.

And here we have two of the bridesmaids in the orangery where the ceremony took place. Whatever the weather the light in what is essentially a greenhouse is just beautiful.

Not photogenic eh? I think Sarah did a marvelous job when I asked her to pose for me.

This was taken in the bridal suite. Lots of great opportunities here. I always try to be as quick as I can when I take the bride and groom away from the main party as people start to wonder where they are.

This is one of my favourite shots of the day. After the wedding breakfast I spotted a posh looking leather armchair and a glowing lamp. I saw a fantastic opportunity for a photo of the groom so asked him to pose for me. It only took a few minutes but it was so worth asking him for the photo. Aurelijus loved it and said he looked like the Godfather!

In the early hours of the evening I spotted this little chap playing on his Nintendo DS lite. He was so engrossed in his game play that he didn’t even notice I was taking a photo.

The night came to a close for me and I said my goodbyes. After leaving St Audries I just had to get some night shots though as it looked stunning.
