Hi there, my name is Ross Alexander and whatever photography you require (portraits weddings, commercial, band photography, events etc) I will be the one who captures it all for you. One way or another I have always had my hand in something creative, I am definitely a right brained person. My mind is a swirling pool of ideas, images and imagination, I can't help it, it's just the way I think. I'd be a terrible accountant should I have taken that up as a career! It's that way of thinking that has led me to take up a creative art professionally and this website and the work you see in it is the result. I studied at Bridgwater College and Ravensbourne College and worked on a range of creative subjects. I showed talent for many of them, like product design, graphic design, ceramics and drawing. However it was the immediacy of the photograph (even more so with the onset of digital cameras) that had me hooked. That said though my talents for drawing, graphic design and composition have aided me in my photography. It is this creative background that has helped me create and continue to create eye catching strong images of a high quality. I am not satisfied to sit still either, my work is always evolving, there are always new techniques to try and new ways of improving. It was at Bridgwater College that I first learnt about photography and during this time I learnt about pin hole cameras. Now if you don't know what one of these is, it is a light tight cardboard box with a piece of light sensitive paper inside stuck to the bottom, a pin hole on the top and a bit of blue tac to cover the hole. This believe it or not was a real working camera, a PRIMITIVE camera! You know what though, sometimes you can get the most interesting results with the most basic of equipment because it involves experimentation. These days I use a camera which is somewhat more sophisticated (I jest). However I still try and hold onto that sense of experimentation, otherwise my photographs would just become stagnant. I don't ever see an end to wanting to try new things and create better photographs. Well I think we have established I like photography quite a bit and I am pretty good at it. It should be clear by now that I would really relish the opportunity to take photographs for you. I look forward to meeting you.
