Coombe Lodge wedding photographer for Glen & Kerry’s wedding
It was a real pleasure to be Coombe Lodge wedding photographer for Glen & Kerry’s wedding. I’ve seen a number of photographs taken at Coombe Lodge and it has always been a venue where I wanted to photograph a wedding. Glen & Kerry’s wedding was my first opportunity. I was booked for 9 hours on their big day and this started by getting some photos around the grounds of Coombe Lodge and some of the details and decorations. People were then just starting to arrive so I got some photos of Glen, his best man and some of the other guys. The girls were getting ready upstairs in the bridal suite and I dropped by to get some shots of hair and makeup being done. Kerry had a set of matching dressing gowns so I got some photos of those too. I visited Kerry at various times before the wedding ceremony, before getting into place for her to walk down the aisle. Thankfully the outdoor ceremony wasn’t interrupted by rain, despite the forecast not being promising that morning. Cocktails were handed around after the ceremony and the kids ran wild on the large lawn. It was a very relaxed day and Kerry was an absolute knockout in her Jesus Peiro wedding dress from Miss Bush Bridal Wear.
As had been discussed beforehand, I like to allow the bride and groom to have some time with their guests before I start calling out for group photos. The rain still holding off, we got the group photos and a few shots of Glen & Kerry around the outside of the venue, as the grounds of Coombe Lodge are lovely.
The reception room, which is often also used as a ceremony room, was lovely and bright making for very natural looking photographs. I was largely unaffected by artificial lighting which makes for much better photos. I always enjoy some of the stories that come out during the speeches.
The rest of the day went off without a hitch and I had an opportunity to get some lovely photos of Glen & Kerry at the entrance to Coombe Lodge in the archway. Coombe Lodge proved to be a great venue, lovely decor, plenty of space, secluded, classy and flexible to the needs of wedding clients. The food was also yum! The evening entertainment was from Nigel Pearce at Stylish Entertainment, and it lived up to its name!
