Educational photography for Preston School
I offer schools educational photography that is professional and will kickstart your marketing. Imagery that will show off your facilities to their best and attract the attention you desire.
Preston School contacted me as they wanted to refresh the educational photography they already had. Another photographer had taken photographs for them as long as 4 years ago so the School was in great need of a refresh. Also, although many images had been taken the last time around, the images taken didn’t do their job well; this was to show off the positive aspects of the school. Some images were dark, there wasn’t great focus on the subject matter, or clutter was seen in the background and this diluted the message the images were supposed to deliver. As only a few good images were gleaned from the last photo shoot, those that were good enough were repeated somewhat which meant a lack of variety in the current marketing materials. New educational photography was desperately needed. Also headshots of staff members on the school’s website needed a refresh and greater consistency. A fresh set of headshot photos and a new approach to the general photos to promote the school was required to get better results.
Existing educational photography already in my commercial portfolio was enough to secure the job, but the first thing I did was consult with the school how I could improve on the school’s photos they had been using repetitively for marketing for some time. It was clear that a brighter, more eye catching approach was needed with attention to detail. Rather than just walk around the school taking photos off hand. A timetable was drawn up to make sure I had time with each pupil or group of pupils in an arranged subject context. This allowed me to take more control and get the photos the school really needed. Also, rather than only getting a few grab shots that were good, I could instead get a much wider variety of angles and set ups. This allowed for greater opportunities later on when laying up the photos in artwork such as prospectuses, flyers, newspaper adverts and bus backs.
The final photos were very well received. So much so an extra day was arranged to get more photos of some different subjects. The school now has an excellent selection of educational photography that will be used to produce visually appealing promotional materials such as prospectuses, flyers etc, to show off what the school has to offer.
