A busy weekend it has been with two weddings. I had a wedding both on Friday and Saturday. Yes that’s right Friday the 13th! For Gary and Claire though it was their lucky day as that was the day that Gary proposed so it had to also be the day of their wedding. And a lovely day it was.
Gary & Claire were married at Hornsbury Mill in Chard. Hornsbury Mill is a lovely venue with plenty of space for guests to mill around with drinks, an attractive lake, gazebo, new light and bright orangery extension and a pretty candle lit room for the ceremony.
There were plenty of things to photograph, Gary & Claire had a rustic theme when it came to the decorations which made for great photos.
Before the ceremony, I got some photos of Claire and her bridesmaids having a few drinks together, some of the details, and building excitement (washed down with a glass of bubbly). I then went off to get some photos of the boys and also the guests before returning back to Claire, now in her wedding dress. She looked fantastic (oh yes and Gary looked handsome too!).
The day was not without its challenges. Despite having some sun earlier in the week, it chose to be cloudy on the weekend. It didn’t rain when it mattered, but it was very chilly. This did make group photos outside (where we had the space) quite challenging as no-one likes standing around in the cold for long. With some clear direction though and some dubious ladder balancing making me almost worthy to join the circus, I managed to get all the group photos done in record time. A few fun photos were thrown in too – see the Red Nose Day reference below (although I don’t think that is quite the usual place to wear a red nose!).
I sent Gary & Claire a few teaser photos (below) and had a great response:
Wedding photography feedback
“Thank you so much for the teaser photos…they are amazing! Love the one of Gary and I with the peacock in the background. Cant wait to see the rest!”
